Welding Laboratory Each student will be allowed to practice lap welding 16ga HRS specimens. At the completion of the practice sessions, each student will weld 2 test specimens to be tensile tested by the Laboratory technician. The higher of the 2 values will be recorded as a grade. If the weld breaks in the HAZ or on one of the coupons the grade will automatically be set at 100. Please be sure to wear appropriate clothing: no skin tight pants, open necks, etc. Jeans and an on old shirt are best. Protect your feet: no rubber boots or open shoes. Leather boots are best.
